Meet our team

When it came to designing our line of pet beds we didn’t have to look far for inspiration: those furry faces below are our muses, our motivation, and our biggest critics. We launched The Houndry because of a need we saw right in our own homes. We all wanted our furry children to have a great bed to sleep on, but we also wanted that bed to not look like an after-thought in the design of our homes. With our eager product testers we set out to design a pet bed that would not only make us proud, but that they would love just as much as us.

NATE, BREWER, & FITZGERALD

Nate is our go-to guy. He handles everything from operations and numbers to design and a little bit of everything in between. When he’s not dotting I’s and crossing T’s, you can find Nate spending time with his wife, Sara, and their two young sons, Ford (6) and James (3). A dog lover since he was a little kid (when he was surprised with a Chocolate Labrador puppy, Nutmeg, for his 12th birthday), the current four-legged fur babies keeping Nate’s family on their toes are Fitz, a 3-year-old Lagotto Romagnolo and Brewer, a 13.5-year-old Black Labrador. Needless to say, there is never a dull moment in the Whitfield household with two young boys and a younger pup!

KEVIN, BERKELEY, & PIPPEN

Kevin is our operations and product development lead. He improves the way we get products to our customers, as fast as we can with quality and service in mind. Kevin and his wife, Allison, are proud parents to a peekapoo named Berkeley and a mini-goldendoodle named Pippen. Kevin also recently became a father with the birth of his son, Logan.

KEN & ABBY

Ken offers guidance and acts as a strategy resource for The Houndry. He is an avid dog lover and enjoys sharing his life with his cockapoo, Abby, whom he adopted in 2011 from a shelter in Atlanta. “When I saw her we knew we wanted to give her a great home”. She has been such a blessing to have as a part of my family.

When Ken isn’t busy supporting Nate and Kevin, you can find him chasing around his two daughters and working on his other passion projects. 

For Abby, we selected the Hugger dog bed. It is an oversized bed that allows her to sprawl out as much as possible without hanging over the sides. The design pattern is a perfect match with our furniture and home decor.
